Volume is the amount of space which matter
occupies. In laboratories micromanipulators are
used to extract, transfer, measure, and
introduce small amounts of material.
The Pipette and micro-pipette are narrow glass
or plastic tubes used to move small amounts of liquids.
There are two methods (Gravimetric and Photometric)
used to calibrate pipettes. The smallest micro-pipettes
require 7-place balances used in controlled environments
making field calibrations unreliable. Quality pipettes
are manufactured to meet the requirements of ASTM
E969-95 and ASTM E438. Calibrations are performed in
accordance with ASTM E542.

InnoCal provides in-house calibration services for a wide variety of pipettes and pipettors. All pipette measurements are traceable to NIST.
