Rotary Motion

When every particle of a body moves in a circle and all of the circles have their centers on the same straight line it is known as rotary motion. Newton’s laws of linear motion can be paraphrased and applied to rotational motion as:

“A body in equilibrium remains in equilibrium until
acted upon by an external torque”
“The angular acceleration of a body is proportional to the
unbalanced torque acting on the body”
“For every torque action there is an equal and opposite torque reaction”

InnoCal provides in-house calibration services for a wide variety of rotational motion measuring instruments. All rotational motion measurements are traceable to NIST. Our laboratory is capable of performing rotational motion measurements up to 100,000 rpm (optical, non-contact measurement).
